I recently found myself in a situation where I had to hire a civil litigation lawyer. The most difficult part, though, was not the hiring itself – it was choosing which attorney from the multitude of options available to me would be the best lawyer to serve my interests. I'm glad I hired a civil litigation lawyer Austin when I need one.
Because of the fact that I was so incredibly stressed by the legal situation I found myself embroiled in, I knew from the beginning that I was going to need to have a clearly laid out path to follow to make the comparisons and ultimately the choice. Otherwise, my brain would get so overwhelmed with all of the options that I would not be able to think clearly and come to a decisive action.
When I decided to do was make a rubric – that is, a list of things that I would judge the various attorneys on, assigning them a score in each sector that was weighted according to how important that sector was to me. These included things like education, experience, fee, and reputation.
Once I was able to look at the scores dispassionately, it was very clear to me which attorney was the best choice.
